Have any questions, pictures or developments concerning the ball python lavender albino project to ask or proclaim to enthusiasts around the world?

You've come to the right place!

WHO POSTS AND BLOGS IN THE LAVENDERALBINO.COM FORUM?

New users of ultrasound generally have a great deal of questions when starting out.  We quickly saw a need for a collaborative forum and worked extra hard to make it happen!  In many cases, individuals who have already been ultrasounding a particular species of snake, lizard, turtle etc., for years, have illuminating observations and feedback to share with less experienced breeders concerning images and questions in their posts.  Others  just logging on for the first time can look back over old blogs on the forum and learn more about reptile ultrasound for different species and developments in the lavender albino project in ball pythons as well.  Many newer users of ultrasound will save countless hours of precious time by benefiting from targeted experience shared freely on this site.  This may be the greatest learning tool available to herpers around the globe who are just getting started on the paradigm-shifting world of ultrasound application in the breeding room!  Since so much goes on inside the female hidden from the naked eyes, even those who don't have an ultrasound can still gain invaluable breeding insight by perusing the case studies of numerous females from an endo point of view. We are still in the wild west days of ultrasound and the lavender project, so everyone is still a mad scientist at this point!  Join us as we combine forces, break even more new ground, and discover more together!

CAN I POST TO?

Of course!  Membership in the LavenderAlbino.com forum is automatic and FREE!  Simply choose your own login and password and you are in!  Posting ultrasound images and questions concerning your particular female's stage of follicular development on this forum is one of the best ways to allow more experienced breeders, vets, and hobbyists alike, to blog back their precious feedback and input for all to see FOR FREE!  Posters benefit from other blogger's years of experience, and have a place to network with those sharing similar interests in reptile ultrasound and the lavender project!   Be careful what you say though...we don't itch to censor like other sites do! lol!

HOW DO YOU POST PICTURES AND ULTRASOUND IMAGES ON THE LAVENDERALBINO.COM FORUM?

Posting images on (www.LavenderAlbinoForum.com) forum threads is easier than checking your email once you get the hang of it, and similar to other community sights like Kingsnake.com.  Once images are captured by your ultrasound and stored on your computer, they must be uploaded from your hard drive to your own active server, or one of the many free online gallery storage centers of your choice like Snapfish.com, MySpace.com, Kingsnake.com, etc.  Once stored online, image URL's can be used to include media in your forum posts!

STEP ONE:
Download images from your ultrasound or camera to your PC's hard drive.

Although many ultrasound units already have dedicated USB ports for simple, quick and easy download to your computer like the CTS-900V and CTS-5500V, some like the CTS-3300V require either a BNC to digital converter or a standard RS-232C cable that can be purchased at most electronics parts stores such as Fry's Electronics, or Radio Shack.  Once your ultrasound is hooked up to your computer, images can be downloaded and saved in standard JPG, BMP, or TIF format on your computer's hard drive, and then uploaded to the active server of your choice.

STEP TWO:
Upload your photos and/or ultrasound images to a free online storage gallery.

As many of you know, there are hundreds of free, online storage centers where you can post your pictures and images for viewing on the world wide web free of charge!  Snapfish.com is one of our favorites that is easy, and free to use, but you can also use others to store images online like Myspace.com, Kingsnake.com, etc.  Some may choose to use their own dedicated servers they pay to maintain themselves, but the bottom line is that you need an online server to store your media before you will have an online URL address to copy and past into your post later.

STEP THREE:
Open a new topic in the forum category of your choice and click the "image" icon.

Now, to post your ultrasound images or reptile pictures, you simply open up a "new topic" on a board within one of LavenderAlbino.com Forum's categories to start your own thread, or simply click "reply" to join an ongoing thread, then click on the image icon in the post writing menu that looks like a smaller version of the following icon:

STEP FOUR:
Copy and past your image's URL in between the image identifier end caps.

Upon clicking the image icon pictured above, a pair of image identifier caps will magically appear in the body of your post that look like: "[img][/img]"  except they will be black and not red.  From here you simply copy and past your image's world wide web URL address in between the image identifier caps for example:

http://www.lavenderalbino.com/images/89192lavender_male__2-med.jpg[/img]"

If you are not sure what your image's URL address is, simply right click over the opened image wherever it is displayed on the world wide web in its full view format (please no thumbnails!), whether it's MySpace.com, Snapfish.com, Kingsnake.com or a server of your choice, and the "Element Properties," block will appear.   Now copy and past the URL address commonly labeled "Location" in between the image identifier caps in the body of your post and you are done!  When you finish writing your post, and actually get around  to clicking "post," your image will be displayed in place of the ugly URL wedged in between those unflattering image identifier end caps:)

NOTE:  Make sure when you copy the media's URL, that it is displayed in the same size you intend to post it.  In Snapfish.com for example, if you use the URL provided by right clicking over thumbnails instead of opened images, your images will be displayed just as tiny as thumbnail images in your posts!

To get the typical URL (http://www.yadda_yadda_yadda...) above, I simply right clicked over the picture of the stunning lavender albino ball python named "Excalibur" on the  hompage of this site, then clicked "Properties," and copied and pasted the long, ugly "Location," or URL web address in between the image identifier caps.  Try it yourself right now with any of the images on this page, or with the picture of "Excalibur" on the top of our homepage for practice!  Takes about 5 seconds.  After you do it once, it's way easier than checking email!
